NetRom Software is one of the financially strongest IT companies

A few weeks ago, we received a message from Computable: in 2025, we are once again ranked 6th in the Top 100 of the financially strongest Dutch IT companies. Last year, we also held the sixth position, and the year before that, we were ranked 11th.

Usually, I don’t pay much attention to these kinds of rankings, knowing that they are often commercially driven and that companies can pay to secure a higher spot. However, that is not the case here. Computable compiles this list entirely objectively based on criteria such as revenue growth, solvency, ebitda margin, and revenue per employee. Revenue growth, ebitda margin, and solvency each carry a weight of three, while revenue per employee counts once. The final financial score on the list is indexed against the number one ranking. A lot of thought has gone into it.

What I find most remarkable about this ranking is not necessarily NetRom’s sixth place but rather some of the other companies we are listed alongside. Companies like AFAS, which, as always, firmly holds the top spot. There was even more recent news about AFAS – they have implemented a four-day workweek while paying employees for five. Did you also know that they will soon donate a remarkable 30% of their shares to charity, generating an annual dividend of 20 million euros? Hats off! These are the names I am proud to see NetRom listed alongside.

This stands in stark contrast to the tech giants in the U.S., who are eagerly rolling back their inclusivity and sustainability programs just because the political winds have shifted. Was it all just for show? The cynical voice in my head, unfortunately, says ‘yes.’

In the latest editions of my Post Craiova blog, I often discussed the NetRom campus. This is most likely one of the indirect reasons we rank so highly among financially strong IT companies. Beyond surpassing the 500 FTE milestone, our philosophy has always been to put our employees first. We have been steadily expanding our campus for 20 years, and everything is company-owned. The reason for this? To ensure that we have full control over creating a work environment that is inviting, stimulating, and inspiring. For us, this is essential in building long-term relationships.

Being financially strong is, of course, great, but at the core of NetRom lies our ability not just to attract talented engineers but, more importantly, to retain them for the long term. For our clients, that means stability, trust, quality, and reliability.

And, ultimately, that is far more important than any Computable ranking.
