Post Craiova – 25 years of NetRom 

In this Post Craiova, we’re not bringing news from Romania, but instead we’re focusing on a very special milestone for NetRom. It’s our 25th anniversary this year! We’re celebrating this with a NetRom relationship day on Thursday, March 21st. Many of our relations have attended one of our relationship days. It’s a day filled with inspiration, news, networking, and joy. I hope to see you there!

In the light of our silver jubilee, we’re taking a trip down memory lane this time. With pride and satisfaction, we look back on what we’ve achieved with our clients in a quarter of a century. This serves as a source of new inspiration but also emphasizes our core values: continuity and long-term relationships. With a significant number of relations, we have been working together for a large part of these 25 years. With our oldest client, it has been more than 20 years, an anniversary we celebrated last year. 

Our client loyalty is exceptionally high, averaging 11 years. And this picture is actually skewed because in recent years, we’ve experienced significant growth in new clients. Seeing all those people in one room together means a lot to me.

It’s important to me that NetRom’s clients talk to each other and share experiences. For this reason, from the very beginning, we have been organising trips to Craiova for (potential) clients to offer a glimpses into our nearshore business. It also provides an opportunity to build a valuable relationship with our employees in Romania. The majority of attendees on March 21st have visited us in Romania several times already. This is quite remarkable because when do you get the chance to do that? The record for these visits stands at 42 times by one single client. A record I expect to be broken this year.

The tremendous development Romania has undergone is a recurring topic in this blog. Over the past quarter-century, so much has changed in Romania, and consequently, in the experience of customers who come to visit our campus. In the early years, I used to pick up visitors from Bucharest airport myself. A journey I often made, so I generally drove quite fast-paced. However, the roads in Romania 25 years ago were not always suitable for this speed. I’ve been told that many people sat in my car with clenched buttocks.

How different it is now. Transportation has received a significant upgrade, to the relief of some people. We now have our own NetRom shuttle service, a luxury van with a professional driver. Moreover, the roads in large parts of Romania are now excellent.

While we usually try to reduce the distance and stimulate relationships and collaborations by visiting Craiova, this year we do this on Dutch soil; during the relationship day. I look forward to meeting our network and celebrating our relationships together, including all the obstacles that have been overcome and the successes that have been achieved. Part of our Romanian team will be present here, and they too look forward to meeting you (again). Here’s to the next 25 years!
